Overview

This site is a personal portfolio. It does not ask you to create an account, submit forms, or provide contact information. To understand how visitors use the site, it uses two analytics services, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. This policy explains what they collect and the choices you have.

Cookies & Local Storage

Analytics load automatically when you visit. The cookie banner is a notice; selecting OK simply hides it. The analytics services set the following cookies:

• Google Analytics: _ga distinguishes one visitor from another, and _ga_<ID> keeps track of your session. Both last up to 2 years.
• Microsoft Clarity: _clck stores a random visitor ID and lasts 1 year, and _clsk groups your page views into a single session and lasts 1 day. Microsoft may also set cookies on its own domain.

Local storage is used only to remember that you dismissed the cookie banner, so it does not appear on every visit.

The site does not use cookies for advertising or personalization. Any cookies created by the hosting provider are limited to security and basic site operations. The page also loads icons (Font Awesome), fonts (Google Fonts), and a security seal (GoDaddy) from those providers' servers, which receive standard request information such as your IP address and browser type.

What Google Analytics 4 Collects

Google Analytics 4 reports on overall site usage, including:

• Pages you view, including which sections of the home page you spend time on (for example, Experience or Skills)
• Time spent on the site and how engaged you are with each page
• How you arrived, such as a search engine, LinkedIn, another website, or a direct visit
• Device type, browser, operating system, screen size, and language
• Approximate location (country, region, and city), derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
• Interactions such as scrolling, clicks on links to other sites, and file downloads

Google Analytics data is retained for 2 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy (see also how Google uses information from sites that use its services).

What Microsoft Clarity Collects

Microsoft Clarity shows how visitors interact with each page, including:

• Mouse movements, clicks, taps, and scrolling, which are used to create heatmaps and session replays (reconstructions of how the page responded to your actions)
• Pages you view and how long you stay
• Device type, browser, operating system, and screen size
• Approximate location and the site that referred you

This site has no forms, and Clarity masks text entered into input fields by default. Session replays are kept for 30 days, and aggregated heatmap data for up to 13 months. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

How Data Is Used & Your Choices

Analytics data is used only to understand how the site is used and to improve its content and usability. I do not sell it, use it for advertising, or combine it with other information to identify you.

If you prefer not to be tracked, you can:

• Block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or browse in a private window
• Use a browser or extension that blocks analytics and tracking scripts
• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on

If the site adds features that involve new types of data collection, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change.
